Mermejita is beside the Mazunte area where El Copal locates its accommodation. Confirm a walkable public access locally; a hotel entrance is not necessarily a beach entrance.
A beach is not a safety guarantee
Plan a coastal walk. Check advisories and signs before approaching the water. Keep clear of breaking waves and rocks reached by the surf.
Return with daylight
Ask about the return route, carry water and avoid returning after dark. If dining at nearby accommodation, confirm in advance that outside visitors are welcome.
